My Editorial portraits of dancers are viewed alongside a video of each individual improvising to a piece of music of their choice.

Through portraits I wanted to capture each dancer’s unique personality and style. Asking them all to dance in the same space, somewhere they have not danced before allowed individual expression. The church hall is a place where I and many other young children started to dance. It symbolises the growth of each individual, how they have learned to express themselves and how they have been shaped into the dancer they are today.
